Biodigester is a system where anaerobic digestion of biodegradable materials takes place. Anaerobic digestion is a process of reducing biodegradable materials by microorganisms in absence of oxygen into biogas and bioslurry as end products. JUAS biodigester is a type of biodigester designed to recycle food/kitchen wastes into biogas and fertilizer at source. Biogas from JUAS biodigester can be used for cooking with biogas stove and liquid fertilizer (bioslurry) as another byproduct can be used for farming.
No, biogas requires low pressure stoves or modified LPG stoves suited for biogas.
LPG is highly compressed gas in a liquid form done mainly for easier transportation so, when flame gets into the LPG cylinder it will explode. Biogas in JUAS biodigester is collected at low pressure in a floating drum that can never explode.
Rural based gobar gas plants are designed to process animal manures along with human excrements. JUAS biodigester is designed to effectively manage food wastes. Since food wastes are undigested high calorie wastes compared to manures so, biogas production from JUAS biodigester is much higher in quantity, making it at least 20 times more efficient than traditional gobar gas plant. Also our biodigester is semi-portable and can be installed on rooftops or basement occupying small space.
Composting is an aerobic process and is much labor intensive than anaerobic digestion. Byproducts of composting is compost only whereas byproducts of anaerobic digestion are biogas and liquid fertilizer. Unlike composting, biodigester also accepts putrefactive wastes such as meat, milk, oily foods, etc. Most of the plant nutrients when doing traditional composting are lost to atmosphere and ground water, but in bioslurry plant nutrients are usually fully contained.
